Princeton Identity's automatic enrollment allows for our readers to match someone using just a face biometric. Once the face is matched, any iris biometrics which are captured during the use of the device will be enrolled to the person's profile. This allows users to enroll iris biometrics without the need to involve an administrator and without a lengthy enrollment process.
The face image can originate either from the access control software, or by an administrator manually uploading an image to the Identity Server's web page. For assistance with the manual process, see the article: Manually add a person to the Identity Server. Regardless of the method used, a portrait which meets Princeton Identity's Enrollment Image Quality Requirements must be included in the user's profile.
The below settings apply to any of the methods when a face is uploaded prior to the first time that a person uses the system. Automatic enrollment occurs on devices that are in identify mode, and it does not require them to be configured for enrollment mode.
Configuring the EyeAllow & Access200
On the IDS homepage, click Devices. On the page that appears, select the unit(s) that will be used in this mode. This will open and automatically log into the webpage of the device (Access200 shown below). From here, click on Settings > Mode. If the device is in Enrollment Mode, click "Switch to Identify Mode".
Once in Identify Mode, click "Change Identify Mode". Reference the document titled User Identification Modes to select the appropriate mode to use - note that Automatic Enrollment is not compatible with "Biometric ON Card".
To enable Automatic Enrollment, check "Auto-Enroll irises after successful identification", then click Save. Repeat the above steps for any units that you wish to configure for Automatic Enrollment. Additional options include (both within the Biometric or Card setting):
- Enroll presented card credential to person with biometrics
- Enroll presented biometrics to person with card credential
Now, new users with either a face biometric or card can approach any device configured for Automatic Enrollment, and the device will match their face or card attached to their profile, then automatically enroll one or both irises to their profile. That's it! No further action is required to complete enrollment.
Using the Tap-to-Enroll feature:
Starting with update 2.33.0, users can now enroll using the device's on-screen button, no administrator required! As outlined in our QR Code Enrollment/Authentication section, users can enroll using either a QR code or card, or add a card to their profile.
To begin the process, press the "Enrollment Options" button:
Next, select the type of enrollment desired:
Once selected, the device will present the following screen.
After scanning the card,
Option A: The user's card will be used to enroll the user's biometrics.
Option B: If biometrics are presented, they will now be saved to the profile that the card is listed under.
Congratulations! You've now performed a seamless enrollment to the Identity Server!
