This article describes how to manually add a person to the Identity Server (IDS). In order to enroll a person into the IDS, you must first add them to the system. Most production systems synchronize with the access control system and do not require this manual process. This article is primarily intended for demo and proof of concept (POC) systems.
To be able to add people to the IDS, you must be a user with the "admin" or "enroller" role.
Log in to the IDS.
Click on the “People” tab at the top of the screen, or the "People Records" link under the "People" section.
On the upper right section of the “People” page, click on the button that says “New Person”.
On the “New Person” screen click “Update”.
Enter the person’s name in the boxes labeled with “First Name”, “Middle Name”, “Last Name/Family Name”, and then click on the “Save” button.
On this page you can also add a credential or setup a PIN for this person.
A face biometric for the individual can also be uploaded at this time. Note that uploading a face biometric is required if Princeton Identity's new Automatic Enrollment process will be used. To add a face biometric, click on Enroll.
On the page, biometrics can be added in one of two ways. Users can upload an existing image taken with a webcam or cell phone, or they can take a photo using the built-in interface if there is a camera currently connected to the computer.
To upload an existing image, click "Upload Face Image" and select the image file. Alternatively, click "Start Camera" to initialize a connected laptop or web camera. The user should then position themselves in the window and click "Take A Picture". In either case, the image must adhere to Princeton Identity's Enrollment Image Quality Requirements. The image will be graded automatically. Click Submit once the picture has been uploaded or taken and it meets the minimum grade.
