Here at Princeton Identity, we're always looking out for our customers. You've spoken, we've listened, and now we're offering one of our latest leading-edge solutions! Users with multiple devices now have the ability to manage both the configuration and software versions of more than one at once.
Proceed to the Devices page. In addition to all of the current and past connected devices, you will see options to add/install/store both device software, firmware, and configurations.
Managing Software & Firmware:
In order to manage the software and firmware, select “Device Software Version”. This section will enable you to upload, install, and remove the versions saved within the IDS.
All of the ones currently stored in the system will be displayed. To add any to the system, select “Upload Update File”. You will then be prompted to select a file from your machine. To remove any from the system, click the red minus symbol.
To proceed with the installation, select the file that you’d like to install, then click “Next”.
The devices currently connected to the IDS along with their software version will be displayed. From there, you can select any of the devices to apply the file to. You have the option of updating one, any combination of them, or all at once:
Select the device(s), then click “Next”:
The next screen will be a summary, including the update version and number of devices selected. Click “Run Now” to begin the installation.
When the process starts, you will see the device(s) status change as the update is performed. Green means good health/ready to use, yellow means in-progress/still loading, and red means disconnected/offline, as shown here.
While the update is applying, you will see a progress bar and label indicating the current status.
Managing Device Configurations:
In order to manage the device(s) configuration, click “Device Configuration”. This section will enable you to upload, install, and remove the configuration files saved within the IDS.
All of the ones currently stored in the system will be displayed. To add any to the system, select “Upload Configuration”. You will then be prompted to select a file from your machine. To remove any from the system, click the checkbox, then click “Remove”.
To proceed with the installation, select the file that you’d like to upload, then select the device(s) to apply the configuration to. Once selected, click “Upload Configuration”.
You will now see the available devices, and their eligibility (based on device type & software version) to accept the file uploaded. For users with a large number of, or only looking to apply the configuration to certain units, you can search for the specific device(s):
NOTE: Access200 configuration files should NEVER be uploaded to Access200Ws if enrollment options are enabled.
Once selected, click “Apply Configuration”. From there, the file will begin being installed.
Congratulations! You have now installed both updates and configuration files all with the touch of a button!
