This article reviews the steps to enable and use Internal PIN pad verification on the EyeAllow & Access200. Currently, external PIN pads are not supported.
Why Use Internal PIN Pad?
Enabling and using the internal PIN pad on the EyeAllow & Access200 increases the security from single-factor authentication to dual-factor verification. With PIN enabled, the reader is confirming who you are (iris) and what you know (PIN) at a 1:1 match. PINs must be at least 4 digits and can be up to 16 digits in length.
Note: With PIN enabled on a reader, any user without an assigned PIN will not be recognized by that reader.
Add a PIN to a User
Within the IDS, select the desired user. In the Credentials and Access Control section, click Setup a PIN:
Enter the PIN and click OK:
PIN details are saved and hidden. This user can now be verified on a PIN-enabled edge device.
Note: PINs are unique and internal to the Identity Server. They are not synced with any external Access Control Solution or panel.
Enable PIN Pad on the EyeAllow & Access200
From the device's webpage, go into the SETTINGS tab
On the left panel of the Settings tab, click Mode
