Overview
This article will guide you through the process of configuring face matching on the Princeton Identity IDS and Edge Devices. It will review the location of the settings, how to obtain the device information, and how to upload the license file.
At this time, anyone who has been enrolled and wishes to use face matching must perform enrollment again after it is enabled on IDS.
Access200s shipped starting in 2021 should have the face licenses pre-loaded and would not require further configuration.
Configuring IDS Face Matching
Obtaining the Host ID
Begin by logging into IDS with an admin-level account.
Before adding face matching to your IDS, please confirm you are running the most current version. You can check your IDS version by looking in the top right corner of your IDS HOME tab, as shown below:
You can compare this version with the latest set of release notes (found here). If your version is out of date, please follow the guide found here for updating software. Once you've confirmed you are using the latest release of IDS, please proceed.
From the HOME tab of IDS, select the SETTINGS tab:
On the SETTINGS tab, select Biometrics from the left-hand menu:
By default, Face Matching is disabled. Click ENABLE:
After that, click CONFIGURE:
In order to obtain a license file, the host ID information is required. Click the "Download" link to download the Host ID file to your computer:
On your computer, you'll now navigate to the folder in which your browser automatically saved the file. Please attach the file to an email addressed to support@princetonidentity.com and titled "Face Matching Host ID." NOTE: Please include the total number of users you plan to enroll in Identity Server when you submit the host ID file to the above address. This information is required so that we can provide the correct license type for your installation.
Uploading the License File
Princeton Identity will respond to the Host ID email by sending a response with a .lic file attached. Save this file to your computer. Return to the IDS > SETTINGS > Biometrics page and click Browse for file...:
In the file window that appears, locate the .lic file and click Open. A green check mark should appear next to the Browse for file... button, indicating the license was successfully applied. From here, click SAVE:
Restart IDS
In order for the changes to take affect, the IDS needs to be restarted. To accomplish this, navigate back to the IDS HOME tab and scroll down to find the Restart Server button, then click it:
After the IDS restarts, you can confirm that Face Matching is running by navigating to the SYSTEM tab of IDS:
Among the devices connected to IDS, Face Matching should now appear with a green health indicator next to it.
At this point, you have completed enabling Face Matching on IDS.
