This article reviews the steps to update the software and firmware on the EyeAllow & Access200/200W.
Why Update Software and Firmware?
Periodically, Princeton Identity releases new versions of our software and firmware to implement new features, enhance current features and performance, and add bugfixes. It is recommended to update to the latest versions of available software and firmware for the best technical support and to get the most out of your EyeAllow and Access200.
Check Your Firmware and Software Version
The latest firmware and software releases can be found on Princeton Identity's Latest Solution Updates page.
From the EyeAllow or Access200 homepage, look in the Device Information section next to FIRMWARE VERSION. This indicates the current version of your firmware.
The software version is listed on the top right corner of the page next to the word "LOGOUT".
Updating Your Software and/or Firmware
When updating both firmware and software, Princeton Identity recommends updating the firmware first, but the update process is the same for firmware and software.
From the device's homepage, go into the UPDATE tab
From this tab, you will be able to upload new versions of software or firmware. To locate your update file, click Browse for file...
Use the file explorer to navigate to the update file* location, select the file and click Open
*The update file must be stored locally, via usb, or dvd on the laptop or computer you will be using for accessing the device's website.
NOTE: After you click the Open button, the device will be unavailable for the duration of the update process (~3-5 min). It is recommended that updates are performed off peak hours.
A progress bar will appear in the update tab as the update is loaded onto the device. Once this completes, the upload will be verified. Following this, the device will reboot, and you will lose connection to the webpage.
The total process will take 3-5 minutes, depending on whether the update is software or firmware. Click your browser's Refresh button to display the webpage again
Confirm Updated Version
From the homepage, review the firmware or software version to see that your version number has changed to the latest.
The update process is now complete.
