This article reviews the steps to update the software and firmware on the IOM Access200™. The update process is identical for the IOM Access200e™
Why Update Software and Firmware?
Periodically, Princeton Identity releases new versions of our software and firmware to implement new features, enhance current features and performance, and add bugfixes. It is recommended to update to the latest versions of available software and firmware for the best technical support and to get the most out of your Access200(e).
Check Your Software Version
From the Access200 homepage, look in the Device Information section next to FIRMWARE VERSION. This indicates the current version of your software and firmware
Updating Your Software and/or Firmware
From the Access200 homepage, go into the UPDATE tab
From this tab, you will be able to upload new versions of software or firmware. To locate your update file, click Browse for file...
Use the file explorer to navigate to the update file* location, select the file and click Open
*The update file will be stored locally, via usb, or dvd on the laptop or computer you will be using for accessing the Access200 website.
NOTE: After you click the Open button, the Access200 will be unavailable for the duration of the update process. It is recommended that updates are performed off peak hours.
A progress bar will appear in the update tab as the update is loaded onto the Access200. Once this completes, the upload will be verified. Following this, the Access200 will reboot and you will lose connection to the webpage
The total process will take 3-5 minutes, depending on whether the update is software or firmware. Click your browser's Refresh button to display the Access200 webpage again
Confirm Updated Version
From the Access200 homepage, review the FIRMWARE VERSION in the Device Information section to see that your version number has changed to the latest
The update process is now complete.
