Identity Server |
"Unable to determine the IDS Host Id" is displayed on the Home page and/or the Licensing page.
The downloaded IDS host ID file is empty (i.e. 0Kb) |
This error occurs because Identity Server looks for specific names of network adapters. The network adapter for the system Identity Server is installed on must be named one of the following:
Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for your specific OS to rename the network adapter. |
EyeAllow & Access200 | "Connection successful" is not displayed after clicking Test Connection on the Access200 connection setup page in Identity Server. |
|
EyeAllow & Access200 | The internal card reader does not beep when a card is held up to the device below the screen. |
|
EyeAllow & Access200 | The device does not start authentication when a person walks up to it. |
|
EyeAllow & Access200 | The device displays an IP address of 192.168.63.100 |
Old versions of software include a bug where the IP address will not display properly. This was resolved in firmware v2.4.2 and software v2.23.0. The device web page can still be accessed via the correct IP address. The IP address can be determined using network tools or can be set to static via the device's settings button. It can also be accessed via its hostname, which by default is PI followed by the MAC address (ex: https://PIABC123DEF). You can find the MAC address by selecting the Settings button at the bottom of the screen, then Device, then About. All of the device details will now be listed. *If this doesn't work, alternatively, you can attempt to ping the device by IP. |
EyeAllow & Access200 | The device displays an IP address of 169.254.XXX.XXX | The EyeAllow & Access200 are set to DHCP by default. When a DHCP server is not available, this IP address will be assigned automatically. If a DHCP server should be available, please verify the network cable and connection. If no DHCP server is available, a static IP address can be assigned to the device via its screen or web page. |
EyeAllow & Access200 | The door does not unlock when a person is identified with biometrics. |
|
Identity Server | The "PI Identity Server" Windows service fails to start. |
|
Identity Server | The Host ID file is empty, or a "500 Internal Server Error" occurs when attempting to download it. | The system that the server is installed on is incompatible. |
Identity Server | Roles lost when you click on a device link that user is seeing an admin view | To solve the user access/permission issue, you can create users specifically for enrollment in the IDS. In the IDS, under the Users tab, create an Enroller account with a p/w set. Next, that user can then login to the specific Access200 with those credentials (ensure that the device is in enrollment mode first). This ensures that they only have enroller privileges. |
Identity Server | The server doesn't allow you to submit a face image/portrait (options greyed out) while displaying "N/A: Face not found. Please upload another picture." | NOTE: This bug was resolved in software versions 2.23.2+, prior ones may present issues with face matching/scanning. |
Identity Server, EyeAllow, & Access200 | Parent/Child server configurations behave inconsistently. |
NOTE: ALL parent/child Identity Servers, & ALL edge devices must be running the SAME software & firmware versions in order to prevent functionality issues. Also, be sure to clear the device's cache (Settings > Caching > Clear Cache) periodically to prevent the potential corruption and transfer of stored data, which may cause issues within this type of architecture. |
Identity Server | The server displays an "Exception reading response" error when attempting to use SMTP. |
NOTE: The port MUST be set to 587. Any others WILL NOT work. |
Identity Server | The server immediately crashes and restarts after authenticating / creating a RankOne (face) template. |
This is related to the processor that IDS was running on not having a certain hardware acceleration feature enabled. The face matcher we currently ship with the Identity Server relies on FMA3 instructions. (for hardware acceleration). This feature can be detected by running Microsoft's Coreinfo program. Extract the contents of Coreinfo.zip from that article to a folder (Local Disk [C:] > generally System32 or System64) and run Coreinfo or Coreinfo64.exe from a command prompt. If this feature is enabled, you should see the following line appear in the output list (note that the * character means it's available) |
EyeAllow & Access200 | The device displays "Failed to Authenticate with Remote Server" when attempting to connect to an Identity Server. |
This can be due to a number of things, including the host URL, missing/wrong credentials, security/certificate configuration, and or network issues. |
EyeAllow & Access200 | The device displays "Prox Sensor Error" upon coming back online after recalibration. |
During recalibration, you may receive a prox sensor error if you don't either: return to the main menu on the device screen once complete, or ensure that the device is back on the main menu on the device screen before returning to operational mode using the web interface. |
EyeAllow & Access200 | The device loses connection intermittently and/or at random |
This is a network or firewall configuration issue. Please verify that any cabling is functional. The device may be sharing an IP address with something else, or the network wattage isn't set correctly (30W Max Output), or a security setting is interfering with the communication of the device. |
